Founded in Montelupo Fiorentino, Italy, in 1921, Bitossi Ceramiche became internationally renowned during the mid 20th century for its bold, expressive ceramics that represented traditional craftsmanship and modernist design. Under the artistic direction of Aldo Londi - who joined as creative director in 1946 - Bitossi developed iconic collections such as Rimini Blu, known for its vivid blue glaze and stamped patterns.
Bitossi's collaborations with influential designers like Ettore Sottass and later with the Memphis Group further cemented its role in shaping Italian modernism. Today, mid-century Bitossi pieces are highly collectible, celebrated for their vibrant glazes, textured surfaces and sculptural forms.
