Robert Heritage (1927–2002) trained at the Royal College of Art in London and later became one of Britain’s most awarded designers, including multiple Council of Industrial Design (CoID) Awards.

During the 1950s and 1960s, he collaborated with Archie Shine, a British furniture company known for its sophisticated designs. Heritage created iconic pieces such as the Hamilton Sideboard, which epitomised mid-century elegance with its use of high-quality veneers, clean forms, and functional design. The sideboard featured rich rosewood or teak finishes.

Heritage also designed lighting and furniture Race Furniture and Rotaflex. Later in his career, he held a professorship at the Royal College of Art, influencing a new generation of designers.
