Illuminated Teak Display Cabinet - attributed to White & Newton
Britain, mid-20th century
A refined and versatile teak cabinet, attributed to White & Newton, with proportions that make it easy to place in a wide range of settings. We are currently curating it as a drinks cabinet, but it would work equally well as a bookcase, display cabinet, or hallway piece.
The upper section features a pair of smoky glass sliding doors, opening to a generous interior fitted with a single shelf, ideal for glassware, ceramics, books or objects. Below, a full-width cupboard with two doors provides useful concealed storage, also fitted with an internal shelf.
The cabinet has been carefully restored. The teak has been stripped and re-oiled and is in lovely condition throughout. The original electrics have been fully removed and replaced with discreet LED strip lighting and a new switch, all fully PAT tested.
Beautiful mid-century metal handles add a subtle but distinctive detail.
