A beautifully simple piece from Arne Jacobsen’s iconic Cylinda-Line for Stelton, this stainless-steel jam or sugar pot distils everything the series is known for: clean geometry, purity of material, and an almost architectural sense of proportion. Designed in 1967 and launched in 1968, the Cylinda-Line marked a turning point for Stelton - introducing a new era of Danish stainless-steel tableware defined by precision, minimalism, and modern living.
This cylindrical pot, with its perfectly flat lid and small angular cut-out, is a classic example of Jacobsen’s approach: nothing superfluous, everything resolved. It works beautifully for sugar, jam, chutneys, or small serving condiments, and sits effortlessly alongside other pieces from the series.
Designer
Arne Jacobsen (1902–1971) was one of Denmark’s most influential modernist architects. Alongside major architectural works - SAS Royal Hotel, Bellevue Theatre - he designed furniture and objects that have become design icons: the Egg chair, Swan chair, Series 7, and the full Cylinda-Line for Stelton. His work is defined by clarity, functionality and a sculptural understanding of form.
Maker
Stelton, established in 1960, became internationally recognised through its collaboration with Jacobsen. The Cylinda-Line was developed using advanced stainless-steel pressing techniques and remains one of the most important Scandinavian design collections of the 20th century.
Condition
All four pieces are in excellent vintage condition, each with its original 1960s box. Stainless steel is clean and reflective with only minimal signs of age.
A brilliant addition for collectors of Cylinda-Line, Scandinavian design enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates beautifully engineered tableware. Perfect for gifting, too.
