Alexander Mackenzie (1923-2002) was a British painter associated with the St Ives School, known for his abstract interpretations of the Cornish landscape. Born in Liverpool, he studied at the Liverpool School of Art before settling in Newlyn Cornwall, in 1950. He became a key member of the Perth Society from 1951 to 1964, later serving as Head of Fine Art at Plymouth Art College until 1984.

Mackenzie exhibited widely, with solo shows at the Waddington Gallery (London) and Durlacher Fine Art (New York) in the late 1950s and early 1960s, as well as major group exhibitions at institutions such as the Tate Gallery and the Whitechapel Art Gallery. His work is held in public collections, including the Tate and the Arts Council, reflecting his lasting contributions to British modernism. He lived and worked in Cornwall until his death in 2002
