Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen Sofa, Armchairs & Coffee Table for France & Son, Denmark, 1960s

A beautiful and increasingly hard to find matching suite by Danish designers Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for France & Son, dating from the 1960s.

The set comprises a three seater sofa (FD130), two matching armchairs (FD130) and a coordinating coffee table (FD596), all sharing the same distinctive sled-base construction and elegant, lightly curved timber frames.

The pieces are currently awaiting full restoration. The teak  frames will be carefully stripped and refinished to bring back the warmth and character of the wood. The sofa and armchairs will also have completely new fire retardant cushion interiors made before being fully reupholstered in our workshop.
