A pair of Finn Juhl Model 136 armchairs, available exclusively for short-term hire. These are original France & Son pieces with beautifully sculpted teak frames and all the hallmarks of Juhl’s mid-century Danish design: a floating seat, floating backrest and elegantly tapered arms.

Both chairs have been fully restored with new foam and upholstery while retaining the original internal metal spring system that gives the Model 136 its distinctive level of comfort. They’re finished in a blue-purple 100% wool fabric by Danish Art Weaving, a soft, tonal colour that photographs beautifully.

Each chair carries the maker’s badge.

These are high-end vintage pieces from Caroline’s home collection and are for rental only.

Designer

Finn Juhl (1912–1989) was one of the most influential figures in Danish modernism, known for introducing a more sculptural, expressive approach to furniture design. Trained as an architect, he saw furniture as small pieces of architecture - organic forms suspended within finely crafted wooden frames. His work for France & Son brought Danish design to a global audience and remains among the most collected mid-century furniture today.
