Göte Augustsson for Ruda Glasbruk -  Relief-Moulded Slab Vase
Sweden, c.1960s/70s
18 × 13 × 6 cm

A sculptural Swedish slab vase designed by Göte Augustsson for Ruda Glasbruk. Augustsson was known for his bold, textural approach to glass, and this piece is a strong example of the studio’s relief-moulded work from the mid-century period.

The rectangular form is cast in deep forest-green glass, with an organic, almost ice-like surface pattern that catches and distorts the light beautifully. The thickness of the glass gives the vase real presence, while the slab shape makes it ideal for bookshelves, narrow ledges or pairing with taller sculptural vessels.

A collectible piece of Scandinavian art glass and a distinctive example of Augustsson’s modernist design language.
