Final image as they are now
A rare and beautiful group of Modus seating designed by Kristian Solmer Vedel for Søren Willadsen in 1963.
The group comprises one armchair, one side chair and a two-seat modular sofa. The Modus range was designed as a flexible system of seating and tables, with beautifully simple rosewood frames and suspended leather upholstery. The combination of rosewood and leather is really what makes the design work, so we would only restore these in leather rather than fabric.
The woodwork is in excellent condition and will be carefully cleaned and oiled. The original leather will be assessed and repaired where possible, with new matching leather cushions made where required. Any replacement leather will be chosen to sit sympathetically with the surviving original material.
These are particularly special pieces - sculptural, beautifully made and increasingly hard to find, especially as a group.
Armchair: H 77cm x W 61cm
Side chair: H 77cm x W 49cm
Two-seat sofa: each section H 66cm x W 63cm
