Stavangerflint Hand-Painted Ceramic Bowl, Norway - 1960s

A beautifully hand-decorated ceramic bowl produced by Stavangerflint in Norway during the mid-twentieth century. The bowl features an elegant radial botanical design, with delicate stems, leaves and seed forms spreading outward from the centre. The illustration has a light, almost graphic quality that reflects the Scandinavian interest in stylised representations of nature.

The decoration sits against a softly speckled glaze, giving the piece a warm, understated surface typical of Nordic ceramics from the period. Small touches of muted green within the leaves add subtle contrast to the fine brown linework.

Stamped to the underside “Stavangerflint - Handpainted - Made in Norway”, confirming its origin. Stavangerflint ceramics were widely admired for their distinctive decorative patterns and high production quality during the 1950s and 1960s.

With its compact size and finely detailed decoration, the bowl works beautifully as a small serving dish, jewellery bowl, or decorative object on a coffee table or shelf.
