Abstract Oil. on Canvas, signed Lower Left and Reverse

A striking mid-century abstract landscape, likely of Scandinavian origin, painted in on canvas. The composition evokes a forested path or riverbank, rendered in bold, expressive brushwork and a palette of deep greens, blues, black and flashes of ochre and white. The loose, energetic style suggests influence from the Danish or Nordic school of the 1950s-60s.

The work is signed on both the front and back, possibly reading Ruuskanen Hofberg, through the artist remains unconfirmed. It is presented in a new frame, which complements the dramatic and atmospheric nature of the painting.
