This September we’re taking part in Herts Open Studios with our exhibition Anatomy of a Chair. Caroline will be working in the shop window throughout the month, sewing, restoring, and sharing the craft that goes into each piece of furniture. It’s an open invitation to step inside, ask questions, and see the process up close.

artist spotlight

As part of our Herts Open Studios series, we are spotlighting local artists each week. This week it’s Judith Moule, a contemporary landscape painter based in St Albans. Judith works in oils, cold wax, acrylic, and mixed media, layering paint and texture to create landscapes that are both abstract and deeply personal. For her, the landscape acts as a metaphor for the human condition, with inspiration drawn from places as far as Rotorua in New Zealand to the wild hills of Scotland and Yorkshire.

Our in-house upholstery studio will showcase the traditional skills used to sensitively restore our latest pieces.

We are passionate about the positive impact buying vintage furniture has on the environment.  We strive to use natural materials and treatments during the repair and restoration of our furniture.
