Why We Chose Earl of East

We like to know the story behind the things we bring into the shop.

Earl of East is an independent British fragrance brand founded by Niko Dafkos and Paul Firmin in East London in 2014, born from a shared love of fragrance, design and making.

Their candles are still hand poured in London in small batches, using soy wax and carefully developed fragrances inspired by places, travel and memory.

We love the simplicity of the packaging and the thought behind each scent and, most importantly, that it feels like a company where the people making the product still really matter.

It felt like a natural fit for A Fold of Chairs.

Inspired by Japanese hot springs, Onsen is a fresh, aromatic scent with notes of peppermint, eucalyptus and mandarin.
