Dimensions: 21cm wide × 11cm tall
Condition: Full working order
A midcentury mantel clock made by the Shanghai Clock & Watch Factory, known for producing reliable mechanical timepieces throughout the 1950s - 70s. This battery operated model features a gently curved rectangular face, chrome surround, and a black dial with minimalist hour markers that glow in the dark and a distinctive red seconds hand.
The layout has a strong modernist influence - clean geometry, simple indices, and a clear, easy to read dial. The small emblem on the top right is the factory’s mark, used across their mechanical range during this period.
The clock is fully working, keeping good time, with its original hands and casing. A great piece for collectors of midcentury clocks or anyone who loves functional vintage design with a subtle, architectural presence.
A lovely example of midcentury industrial design from Shanghai.
