Whitefriars – Chimney Vase in Sage Green, c.1960s
Whitefriars was a leading force in British art glass throughout the mid-20th century, known for its bold use of colour and confident, modern forms. In the 1960s, the studio—under designer Geoffrey Baxter—developed a wide range of mouth-blown vases that balanced sculptural simplicity with striking colourways.
This Chimney Vase in Sage Green is a classic example. Slender and cylindrical with a slightly flared rim, it’s beautifully proportioned and allows the soft green glass to take centre stage. Sometimes referred to as Willow in Whitefriars’ colour catalogue, this tone is understated, elegant, and full of depth.
Ideal for single stems, a small arrangement, or as part of a tonal display.
