Less and More - The Design Ethos of Dieter Rams

Exhibition poster produced for Less and More: The Design Ethos of Dieter Rams, held in South Korea in 2010.

The graphic features Braun’s L2 loudspeaker as the central motif, reflecting the restrained visual language associated with Dieter Rams’ work at Braun. Rams (b.1932) served as head of design at Braun from 1961 to 1995 and developed a design philosophy centred on clarity, usefulness and reduction - ideas later summarised in his well-known principle that good design is as little design as possible.

The poster is presented in a matt black wooden frame with art glass. The glass is low-iron and designed to minimise reflections (to less than 0.5%) while providing up to 99% UV protection.

The poster itself shows some wear and marks consistent with age, which are visible in the photographs.
