Danish Teak Bowl by Haddonstone, Denmark (1960s)
Danish Teak Bowl by Haddonstone, Denmark (1960s)
Danish Teak Bowl by Haddonstone, Denmark (1960s)
A beautifully sculpted Danish teak bowl produced by Haddonstone in Denmark during the 1960s. Turned from richly grained teak, the bowl has a wonderfully simple, rounded form that allows the warmth and depth of the timber to take centre stage.
What makes this piece particularly distinctive is the subtle raised foot carved into the underside. Rather than sitting flat on the surface, the bowl is lifted slightly from the table, creating the impression that it almost floats. This small but thoughtful detail is typical of Scandinavian design from the period, where careful shaping and proportion transform everyday objects into quietly sculptural pieces.
The teak has developed a deep, honeyed tone over time, with beautiful grain patterns visible around the sides and rim. The underside is stamped “Denmark” and retains the original Haddonstone Denmark Teakwood label.
Perfect as a fruit bowl, serving piece, or decorative centrepiece for a dining table or sideboard.
