A beautifully hand-painted ceramic charger decorated with a bold repeating pattern in soft olive green, sky blue and mustard yellow. The rhythmic geometric design and warm terracotta edge give the piece a distinctly mid-century character, balancing graphic pattern with the charm of hand painted pottery.
Its shallow, wide form makes it an ideal decorative centrepiece for a dining table, coffee table or sideboard, while it also works beautifully displayed on a wall. The palette pairs well with Scandinavian teak furniture and natural materials, bringing warmth and colour to both vintage and contemporary interiors.
The reverse bears a simple ‘Foreign’ backstamp together with the impressed shape number 120, indicating it was imported rather than identifying a specific maker. Its decoration and form are typical of European mid-century studio and art pottery produced during the 1950s and 1960s.
A striking decorative piece that celebrates the colour and craftsmanship of mid-century ceramics.
Condition
Very good vintage condition with light age-related wear. The glaze remains bright and the hand-painted decoration is well preserved.
