Tamara Aladin for Riihimäen Lasi – Cobalt Blue (pair available)
Dimensions: 9.5 cm (diameter) × 20 cm (height)

A sculptural mid-century vase designed by Tamara Aladin for Riihimäen Lasi, Finland’s celebrated glassworks known for its bold forms and saturated colour. This piece is blown in a rich cobalt blue, with Aladin’s characteristic stacked silhouette: a wide cylindrical top balanced over two softly rounded waists, tapering into a weighted clear-glass base.

The profile is wonderfully architectural - almost like a column -  making it as striking empty as it is with a single stem. The transparency and thickness of the glass catch the light beautifully, creating tonal variations through the curves.

About Tamara Aladin

Tamara Aladin (1932–2019) was one of Riihimäen Lasi’s most distinctive designers. Working for the factory from the late 1950s to the mid-1970s, she created glass that was modern, approachable, and sculptural. Her work is known for clean lines, saturated colours, and strong silhouettes, pieces designed to be decorative objects in their own right, not just vessels. Today her designs are highly collected and sit comfortably alongside Scandinavian ceramics, teak furniture and contemporary interiors.
