The stepped, grooved detailing and symmetrical shape are characteristic of the geometric forms used in British Art Deco design during the 1930s.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRobert Goodden was a British designer and silversmith who produced several pressed-glass designs for Chance Brothers during the decade. Chance Brothers was founded in Smethwick in 1822 and became one of Britain’s most important manufacturers of industrial, architectural and domestic glass.
